Since most IPTV providers offer M3U URLs to distribute their channels, using Kodi can be a great way to watch live TV!

However, before going through this tutorial, we suggest you confirm that your IPTV subscription does include an M3U URL.

You can usually find this in the support documents or online discussion board that most IPTV services offer.

You may also find this in the welcome email that you received when you first registered for your IPTV service.

Kodi is a perfect solution for cord-cutters who are unable to install APKs on their devices for live streaming.

This includes anyone who uses a Mac Computer, Apple TV, Raspberry Pi, Xbox One, or another device that does not use the Android operating system.

In the guide below we will show you how to install Kodi IPTV on an Amazon Firestick, but this process will work on any compatible Kodi device.

12. Enter the provided M3U URL from your IPTV Service with your account info inserted and click OK
TROYPOINT Tip: You will usually have two M3U URLs. One is for the channel listings and one is for the TV program guide (EPG).
Most M3U URLs require that you input your service username and password. You will usually see where these go inside the URL as they are indicated by “username=xxxx” & password=xxxx”. You will input your username and password where the x’s are located. Here is an example of an M3U URL. This is not a real M3U URL but this is how the structure typically looks:
http://liveiptvservice.org:86/get.php?username=xxxx&password=xxxx&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
Once you have inserted your username and password into the URL, you can use the bit.ly service and shorten the URL so it is easier to type into the box below. That’s what we did in this example. If you don’t want to use bit.ly you need to ensure that the address is typed into the box with no mistakes. One wrong character in the address and this will not work. Enter the provided M3U URL from your IPTV Service with your account info inserted and click OK

13. Hover over EPG Settings and choose XMLTV URL

Another important item to note about Kodi IPTV is that many of these providers do not offer video-on-demand (VOD) for Movies and TV Shows. Luckily, there are tons of video add-ons available for installation that provide unlimited content for streaming. Or you can consider using a build that encompasses all of these in one location.

Final Thoughts
