Amazon has launched a brand-new Alexa Voice Remote. This is an addition to its extensive selection of Fire TV products.

Pre-orders are currently being accepted. However, its official release isn’t until April 14, 2021. The price is set at $29.99, the same as the 2nd Gen. Voice Remote.

This updated version of the 2018 model has a notable feature. It now includes dedicated app buttons, similar to Roku Remotes.

This new device boasts four clickable buttons designed for instant app launches. The available options may differ depending on your region. Nevertheless, users in the US can expect the following apps to be included:

Meanwhile, those located in Germany, Canada, and other regions also get the convenience of dedicated buttons. These are for Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Music. Another noteworthy addition is the Live TV button.

This feature, previously available in Fire TV Stick Lite models, is now integrated into this new remote. The Alexa button has also been updated. It’s now blue and features the official Alexa logo instead of the microphone button.

As of now, this remote is compatible with several Fire TV Models. This includes the Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen and later), Firestick 4k, Fire TV (3rd Generation), and Fire TV Cube (all models).

How to Pair Firestick Remote

This implies that certain older models are not compatible. If you own a Fire TV Edition Smart TV, 1st Gen. Firestick/Fire TV, or 2nd Generation Fire TV, the new remote won’t work with those devices. Amazon has started to include this new remote with the Fire TV Stick 3rd Generation models.

This coincides with the company’s recent introduction of the device in Australia, Brazil, and Mexico. It’s highly probable that these remotes will become standard with all new versions of Firestick and Fire TV soon.
