The Walt Disney Company has announced price hikes for its portfolio of streaming services for 2023.
Following in Netflix’s footsteps, the organization has elected to raise prices for all 3 services including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.
There will also be additional packages available for residents of Canada and Europe including ad-supported offerings.
Some of the price hikes announced by Disney are substantial. For example, the Disney+ Ad-Free plan will now cost $13.99/month, up from $10.99/month.
This is a 27% increase that will cost users an extra $36 per year if paying on a month-to-month basis.
An annual subscription to Disney+ Ad-Free will now be available for $139.99/year, up from $109.99/year.
Disney+ isn’t the only streaming service that will see an increase in cost. Disney-owned Hulu and ESPN+ will also incur a price jump.
Those who subscribe to the ad-free version of Hulu will now pay $18 a month, up from the previous $15 a month.
ESPN+ will also see the cost go up from $9.99 to $10.99/month or $109.99 per year.
For those who wish to bundle services, a new plan will be available called the Duo Premium which pairs Disney+ ad-free and Hulu+ ad-free for $19.99/month.
All of these changes will begin to take effect on October 12th of this year, with Duo Premium available for purchase on September 6th.
For those in the market for an IPTV Service, Hulu + Live TV will now be available for $76.99/month with ads or $89.99/month without ads.
