Is Surfshark compatible with Netflix? Let’s find out.
But first, it’s helpful to understand what Surfshark and Netflix actually are.
Surfshark and Netflix Services
Surfshark is a well-known VPN. It gives you a secure and private internet connection, along with cool features like ad blocking and malware protection.
Netflix is a household name, so it probably needs no introduction. This streaming giant has a huge library. You’ll find award-winning TV series, blockbuster movies, anime, documentaries, and a lot more.
Netflix has even started producing its own films and shows. It’s quickly become a global phenomenon.
In fact, Netflix is one of the world’s most popular streaming services today.
Netflix Geo-Blocking
Here’s the thing. Like many streaming platforms, Netflix uses geo-blocking. This means they restrict what you can watch based on where you are.
Netflix is available in over 190 countries. However, each country has its own unique library of content. So, you might live in the UK and crave access to the US Netflix catalog, or the other way around.
To bypass these restrictions, lots of people are using VPNs. A VPN lets you connect to a server in another country, making it seem like you’re actually there. This opens up a whole new world of content.
Netflix has become incredibly good at detecting and blocking VPNs. So, when we find one that still works reliably, it’s definitely something to get excited about.
Does Surfshark Work with Netflix?
To find out if Surfshark is Netflix-friendly, I put it to the test while working on my Surfshark VPN review. I wanted to see if it could handle the challenge.
Honestly, these tests often lead to disappointment. Either the VPN doesn’t work with Netflix at all, or it’s inconsistent.
But this time was different. I’m thrilled to share that, at the time of writing this, Surfshark does indeed work with Netflix. It’s a win!
Check out the video below. I’ll show you how it works on a Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
