It seems the popular live TV service Electro TV IPTV has been shut down. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) is responsible for this closure.
ACE has been cracking down on pirate live TV services. Recent actions include the shutdown of Juice TV, Nitro TV, and several other unverified IPTV providers.
Electro TV was a well-known IPTV provider. It offered thousands of live channels and VOD content, but it was broadcasted illegally. Electro TV had a global user base in the thousands.
Reports suggest that Electro TV IPTV was run by two people in Oujda, Morocco. Electro TV was also promoting illicit streaming devices that came “pre-loaded” with illegal streaming applications. They even had reseller packages available.
Jan van Voorn, the Executive Vice President of the Motion Pictures Association, made a statement. You can find it in an official press release.
“Shutting down Electro TV in North Africa shows how effective ACE’s global investigative and enforcement abilities can be. We can reduce the threat of piracy.”
If you go to the Electro TV IPTV website, you’ll see a screen indicating it’s been taken down.
This isn’t the last shutdown we’ll see. Anti-piracy groups like ACE and the Motion Pictures Association (MPA) are actively working. It will be interesting to see what happens next with Electro TV and other potential shutdowns.
We’ll keep you updated as the situation develops. We want to provide our visitors with the most current information. Interestingly, there are still websites claiming to be “Electro TV” that offer thousands of channels.
ACE has been involved with several other recent shutdowns. Some notable examples include FileLinked and 123Movies.
