4. Navigate to console.developers.google.com/apis/library. From there, you need to select the “YouTube Data API v3.”

5. Hit the “Enable” button to activate the API.

6. Go to console.google.com/apis/credentials. Once there, select “Create Credentials” to generate your credentials.

7. From the options provided, choose “API Key.”

8. The API Key will be displayed. You’ll need this key later, so copy it. Consider pasting it into a Notepad document or writing it down for safekeeping.

9. Look at the left-hand menu bar. Click on “OAuth Consent Screen” to proceed to the next step.

10. Select the “external” option. Finish up by clicking the “Create” button.

11. Go ahead and name the application. You can use “YouTube API” or any other name you prefer. Then, scroll down and click the Save button.

12. On the left-hand side, you’ll find the Credentials option on the menu bar. Select it and then proceed by clicking “Create Credentials.”

13. Next, simply click on “OAuth Client ID.” It’s a straightforward step.

14. For this step, choose the “Other” option. This lets you name the application. You can stick with “YouTube API” or pick something else that works for you. Once you’ve done that, click “Create.”.

15. Now, you’ll see your Client ID and Client Secret. It is crucial to either copy these down or jot them down somewhere safe, as you’ll need them later. Once you’ve saved them, go ahead and click “OK.”

16. To proceed, launch the YouTube Kodi addon. Once it’s open, navigate to the settings. You’ll typically find this option within the addon’s menu.
