How to Remotely Control Firestick or Fire TV from Anywhere (Cool Trick)

This guide explains how to remotely control various devices. These include a Firestick, Android TV Box, phone, or tablet, all from a remote location.

To control your Amazon Firestick or Fire TV remotely, you can utilize a tool known as Vysor. It’s a very effective method.

Vysor is a software that you can download to your desktop. It’s compatible with all operating systems – Windows, Mac, and Linux.

With Vysor, you can control your Firestick/Fire TV. You can also control your Android TV Box, phone, or tablet from anywhere with an internet connection. It’s incredibly convenient.

Vysor is also compatible with iOS devices, which is a great plus.

How to Control FirestickFire TV

This method is different from screen mirroring and other Firestick remote alternatives. This is because remote access control can be done from outside your local network.

How to Cast to Firestick/Fire TV

This feature is incredibly useful for helping friends and family with technical support. Imagine, you can even start your own remote tech support service for Firestick or Android TV Boxes! The possibilities are endless.

It’s also super handy for typing on your streaming device within your home network. Think of how much time you can save.

This is particularly helpful when setting up a Firestick or Android TV Box for the first time. This is usually when the most typing is needed.

How to Control Firestick with Remote Access – Screenshot Guide

I’m using an Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite paired with a Windows PC for this demonstration.

Just a heads-up: Vysor works with Windows, Mac, Linux, and even directly in your browser.

To control your Firestick remotely, you’ll need to download the Vysor app on both your computer and your Firestick.

1. Go to the Vysor Website and hit that Download button.

2. Choose your operating system from the options provided. I’m going with Windows for this guide.

Select your operating system. We are using Windows.

3. If you’re running Windows Defender, you might see a security prompt. Don’t worry, the software is safe. Just click Run anyway to proceed.

This message may appear if you are running Windows Defender. Click Run anyway as this software came back free of viruses/malware after scanning.

4. Once Vysor is done downloading, click Allow access to grant it the necessary permissions.

After Vysor is finished downloading, click Allow access.

5. The Vysor app will then open up on your Windows PC. From there, click Connect Network or Shared Device to start the connection process.

The Vysor application will then launch on your Windows PC. Then click Connect Network or Shared Device.

6. You’ll see that you need to enter a Network Address to connect. This is simply your Fire TV’s IP Address, which you can find in its settings.

7. Turn on your Firestick or Fire TV. Navigate to the settings icon and select My Fire TV.

Launch your Firestick/Fire TV and within the settings icon click My Fire TV.

8. Click on Developer Options to access some advanced settings.

Click Developer Options.

9. Ensure that the ADB debugging option is toggled ON. This allows Vysor to communicate with your Firestick.

Make sure ADB debugging is turned ON.

10. Select the back button. Then proceed to select About.

Click the back button and then select About.

11. Find Network. Hover over it and take note of your Firestick’s IP Address.

12. Go back to Vysor. Enter the IP Address you noted in the previous step and click Connect.

Return back to Vysor and enter the IP Address from the previous step. Then click Connect.

13. Look at the green box. You’ll see that an Android device (your Firestick) is connected to Vysor. Next, click the play icon. This will start a prompt for remote Local Area Network access from your Windows PC.

You should notice within the green box that an Android device (Firestick) is now connected with Vysor. 

14. You have now established remote access! You can control any Firestick, Fire TV, or Android TV Box through your computer within your local network.

You can now control any Firestick/Fire TV via remote access from anywhere!

15.  To grant access to your device from outside of your network, locate the share button in Vysor. Give it a click.

16. Vysor automatically copies the share link to your clipboard. Now you can send that link via email to whomever you’d like to give access.

17. The recipient of the email can then copy the link.

18.  Open the Vysor app. Click on Connect Network or Shared Device.

19.  Paste the Vysor link from Step #17 into the appropriate field.

20. Finalize the connection by clicking Connect.

21. Remote access on your Firestick is now successfully set up. You’re all good to go.
