The InvizBox 2 is a new VPN router. It can be connected to an existing router within a home or small business network.
This allows you to protect all devices on your network. You avoid installing a VPN application on each device, which can be a hassle. Just set up the InvizBox 2 on your existing network. Then, connect your devices to that protected hot-spot
Troy from TROYPOINT wrote this InvizBox 2 review after using it regularly for a month. TROYPOINT received this InvizBox 2 VPN router as a gift. However, the opinions expressed here will provide both positives and negatives regarding the router.

Invizbox 2’s New Firmware Supports Existing IPVanish Accounts
The Invizbox 2 now offers two purchase options, thanks to the upgraded firmware.
#1 Utilize your current IPVanish VPN account on the Invizbox 2.
TROYPOINT suggests this option. This is due to the numerous applications and extended functionality that an IPVanish account provides.
You’ll also benefit from future IPVanish VPN enhancements. Invizbox may not be able to offer these enhancements.
IPVanish provides apps for various platforms. This includes Fire TV/Stick, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. They also offer apps for Windows Phone, Linux, and Chrome OS.
Invizbox has an Android app and supports OpenVPN setup. However, IPVanish offers a wider selection of applications currently.

#2 Buy the Invizbox 2 with VPN service provided directly by Invizbox.
If you don’t have an IPVanish VPN account, consider this option. You can purchase your VPN service and router together through Invizbox.
Currently, the Invizbox VPN service is powered by IPVanish. This explains the quick release of the updated firmware mentioned above.
Keep in mind that if you purchase via this method, you’re not technically an IPVanish VPN customer. This means you won’t have access to the applications mentioned above if you ever need them.
Yes, the upfront purchase price is lower with this option. But remember that you might miss out on future IPVanish enhancements. That’s why we
I would suggest choosing option #1 from the ones provided above.

Invizbox 2 Review & Hands-On Demonstration
Why would someone want to use a VPN Router in the first place?
There are many reasons why someone might choose to set up a VPN on their router. I will briefly cover the most important ones here.
- All devices on the network will be protected. This eliminates the need to install VPN apps on individual systems.
Currently, the most common way to use a VPN is by installing an application on the device you want to protect. Wouldn’t it be convenient if there were no apps to install and our router handled the VPN technology for us?
- We might use devices that aren’t capable of running a VPN application. Examples include Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Roku, and others.
Again, connecting these devices to a protected network encrypts all traffic passing between them.
- Kill switch is built directly into the InvizBox 2
Some VPN applications have something called a kill switch. . This feature terminates the Internet connection if the VPN disconnects for any reason. Unfortunately, we’ve found that these kill switches either aren’t very reliable or they simply don’t exist in our preferred VPN apps.
InvizBox 2 has a built-in kill-switch. This means we are 100% protected whenever we connect through a VPN access point.
The following video provides a hands-on demonstration of how the InvizBox 2 works. It also showcases some of its great features.

Things I Appreciate about the Invizbox 2
Sleek, Modern Design
As I mentioned in the video, The InvizBox 2 feels incredibly durable. It also boasts a sleek and modern design.
Automated Kill Switch – A Must-Have
If the VPN connection ever drops for any reason, the Internet connection for that network will also be terminated. This is a fantastic feature for those who sometimes forget to turn on their VPN app before downloading or streaming content!
Now you can connect to the internet through your protected hotspot. Plus, you never have to worry about being unprotected again. It offers real peace of mind.
Impressive Speed and Performance
Most routers are not specifically designed to handle traffic encryption. As a result, download speeds are often reduced when using a VPN. I previously created a tutorial on setting up a VPN on a router where I also explain how to implement a dual-router setup. The dual router setup is important because it allows us to use our open network when we need maximum download speeds without sacrificing security when we need it.
However, the typical dual-router setup can get quite expensive. This is because you need a high-end router specifically to handle the VPN connection. The InvizBox 2 addresses this issue by providing a solution at a much more affordable price point.
The InvizBox 2 is equipped with four CPU cores, and each core is dedicated to a specific VPN access point. This design choice allows for significantly faster download speeds when using the VPN router.
In my own testing, I observed download speeds on my PC exceeding 30 Mbps. That’s more than enough bandwidth to comfortably stream 4K video. I even enjoyed download speeds over 40 Mbps in some instances.I was getting incredible speeds on my Fire TV Stick 4K! Additionally, I connected two streaming devices to the same VPN network. I played a 4K video from YouTube as a test. I didn’t notice any download speed reduction. Clearly, the device is powerful enough to encrypt multiple devices on the same network. It can do this while simultaneously streaming large video files.
Create multiple hot-spots
I believe this is one feature that truly stands out. It’s impressive that you can create up to four VPN hot-spots within the InvizBox 2!
This feature empowers you to create multiple VPN connections. You can create these connections through different locations.
The device utilizes a Quad Core ARM Processor. Because of this, each VPN is assigned one core. This ensures maximum download speed.
Here’s an example: You could connect your Fire TV/Stick to the United Kingdom. At the same time, you could connect your tablet to the United States.
Pre-configured out of the box
The InvizBox team takes care of the initial VPN configuration within the router. They select the fastest possible location. The determination is based on your shipping address. This thoughtful setup allows you to plug in the router and begin using it right away.
Anyone who has attempted to configure a VPN router knows it can be a real pain. However, this isn’t the case with the InvizBox 2.
In the video above, you’ll witness how straightforward it is to set up this router. It’s truly a breeze because everything is pre-configured out of the box.
LAN connection on back of InvizBox
On the back of the VPN router, you’ll find an available LAN connection. The admin dashboard gives you the ability to assign an access point to it. In my own experience, I connected my Windows 10 PC to the Ethernet port on the back. My download speeds increased by 15 Mbps compared to a wireless connection.
Dual-band WiFi
The InvizBox 2 VPN router allows you to create both 2.4 and 5Ghz wireless VPN access points. As of now, you can only assign one of the access points the 5Ghz band. However, all the others will still have 2.4 Ghz available.
I conducted thorough testing and found the WiFi signal to be strong.
I positioned the InvizBox 2 on the main floor of my house. I was able to receive the 5Ghz signal on all three floors, in every room. Individuals with larger homes might find that they need to use the 2.4Ghz band when they are further away from the InvizBox 2. However, this is typically the case with most routers.
Unique, secure password per device
Each device is assigned its own secure password. This password is conveniently printed on the bottom of the router for easy access. For optimal security, all routers are flashed within the InivizBox offices.
Parental controls
The parental controls included with the InvizBox 2 are truly remarkable. You have the capability to set up blocking based on the time of day and/or device. The firmware also offers the option to block by domain. You can even use pre-defined categories that InvizBox has already created.
I’ve often found that parental controls can be quite challenging to configure in many popular routers. However, Invizbox has simplified this task considerably.
Seamless Tor networking
If you’re seeking an extra layer of protection, you have the ability to set up a Tor network within the router. The device will also update through the Tor hidden service. This happens automatically when new firmware is released.
Personally, I don’t utilize Tor due to its slower speeds. The reduced speed is a result of the numerous encryption steps involved.
If any of the features I’ve described sound appealing to you, I highly recommend watching the InvizBox 2 video demonstration. You can find it above.
Registers a 1 device through IPVanish
Suppose you’re currently using an existing IPVanish VPN account. You can utilize the service on as many as 10 devices at the same time.
It’s worth noting that the Invizbox 2 registers as a single device. This remains true even if you have 20 gadgets connected to it!
What I Dislike
Initially, when I first crafted this review, my sole complaint was the absence of an option. I wanted to be able to use an existing IPVanish VPN account on the router.
As I explained earlier, this issue has been resolved. The resolution came about because of the new firmware that was recently released.
I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Invizbox and IPVanish VPN. I appreciate that they listened to the feedback provided by their customers.

Upcoming Enhancements
The InvizBox 2 team shared a list of upcoming enhancements. These will be implemented through firmware updates. The VPN router will automatically download these updates upon release.
- The firmware will allow at least two 5Ghz bands to operate concurrently.
- You’ll be able to pair your InvizBox 2 with an InvizBox Go. This will let you securely connect to your home network.
- Malware detection will be integrated. This feature aims to stop threats directly at the router level, eliminating the need for security apps on individual devices.
Final Thoughts
Setting up a VPN on a traditional router can be a real pain. I’ve experienced it myself, and the InvizBox 2 simplifies this process significantly.
I highly recommend this router. I believe it represents the future of online security for our Internet-connected devices.
The ability to connect through a secure network is a game-changer. It’s much better than having to configure and enable applications on every single device. Plus, it allows you to keep your original router as an open network. This can be handy for things like maximizing download speeds or using services that don’t play well with VPNs.
The automated kill switch also provides peace of mind. It automatically disconnects the Internet if the VPN connection drops for any reason.
