The official release of Kodi 19 “Matrix” is here. It’s now the stable version of this popular software.
This article highlights all the new features. We will explore the updates and changes in Kodi 19, taken from the official Kodi Website.
Download the latest version below or find out how to update. The choice is yours.
Important – TROYPOINT tested Kodi 19. We found that many popular add-ons and builds don’t work with it.
Kodi 19’s addon system switched to Python 3. This means many 3rd party addons and builds won’t work right.
If you rely on a 3rd party addon or build, hold off on updating. Test it on a separate device first.
But if you’re already on Kodi 19, check out the guides below. They can help you navigate the changes.

From Kodi Devs: For those who combine the two, and have libraries of music videos, you get some goodies as well: database and metadata display improvements mean that Kodi will now fetch and display related album and artist information from the music library, where appropriate. There are also new features around grouping videos by artist (not just album), support for .NFO files that list all performers instead of just the main artist, plus better search links to return related albums and videos by the same director.

Security
From Kodi Devs: Kodi has implemented a few new security features. They help keep you safe from both intentional and unintentional issues. Kodi now enforces the origin of installed addons and their dependencies. This stops third-party repositories from overwriting code from other add-ons. Broken or outdated addons are now highlighted. Activating them requires you to actively agree. The binary addon system now has stronger security around data exchange between Kodi and addons. Plus, we’ve made password-protecting Kodi’s web interface the default. We also provide clearer information about the security risks of enabling external interfaces.
