LG OLED C1 TV Review - Who is This For?

LG’s official website boldly proclaims the LG OLED C1 Smart TV as “unlike anything else.” Their statement reads: “The answer is self-lit pixels. It’s a self-luminous display technology that revolutionizes your viewing experience.”

“LG OLED TVs achieve remarkable realism and exceptionally slim designs because of this technology.’

In contrast to conventional LED-backlit TVs, OLED delivers infinite contrast. This is because each self-lit pixel generates its own light. There’s no need for a separate backlight.

LG OLED C1 Smart TV – Streaming Devices & Apps Compatibility

When you’re considering a new Smart TV, it’s helpful to know what streaming devices and streaming apps it’ll work with.

The LG OLED C1 TV is pretty versatile because it has four HDMI inputs. This means you can connect it to popular streaming devices that use HDMI, like the Amazon Firestick, Roku, Chromecast with Google TV, Android TV Boxes (like the NVIDIA Shield), Apple TV, and others.

We tested out the LG OLED C1 Smart TV with our go-to streaming device, the Amazon Firestick 4K.

The Firestick uses the Android operating system, which opens up some cool possibilities. You can install third-party apps by “jailbreaking” the device.

We’re not huge fans of LG’s built-in WebOS operating system, so using a streaming device like the Firestick provides a better user experience, in our opinion. It also gives you access to a wider range of streaming options.user interface and overall experience. It’s easy to navigate and find what you’re looking for. It also has a ton of great features like voice control and screen mirroring.

Compatible Apps

There are thousands of compatible applications that can be used on the LG OLED C1 Smart TV. These apps are designed to enhance your viewing experience. You’ll find everything from streaming services to games to educational apps.

You will find several apps/services that are already built-in with the TV, which include the following:

  • Netflix
  • Disney+
  • Prime Video
  • Hulu
  • Sling
  • YouTube TV
  • HBO Max
  • Apple TV

However, if you are using an external streaming device like the Firestick or Android TV Box, you can install thousands of APKs instead. These APKs give you access to even more content, including live TV, movies, and TV shows.

Note: It’s also worth mentioning that you get 6 free months of HBO Max when purchasing a new LD OLED C1 Smart TV. This is a great way to try out the service and see if it’s right for you.

  • Gorgeous contrast that makes images pop.
  • Sleek, modern design that will look great in any room.
  • 100% free delivery with Amazon, which is a great perk.
  • Flawless streaming, whether you’re watching Netflix or Hulu.

  • Low input lag, so you won’t experience any delays when gaming.
  • Portable for most rooms in a typical household, so you can easily move it from one room to another.
  • Durable TV that should last several years, so you can enjoy it for a long time.

What We Dislike

  • Higher price point compared to others, but premium quality comes at a price.
  • User-interface is clunky (prefer Android TV), although, it does have its advantages.
  • Built-in speakers could be improved (typical with most TVs), so you might want to invest in better ones separately.
  • Problems with casting from other devices, which can be frustrating at times.

Overall, TROYPOINT rates the LG OLED C1 Smart TV 4.1 stars out of 5. The TV itself is a 5/5, with outstanding picture quality and features. But we can’t justify a five-star rating with that high of a price point, as it might not be accessible to all.
