Netflix is raising its prices once again. The increases will affect all plans in the US and Canada for 2022.
Netflix is arguably the most popular streaming app available today. Millions of cord-cutters around the globe use it. The news regarding these price hikes comes from the Netflix website. This is where the price increases for all their subscription plans have been posted.
The above table outlines the new prices for the various Netflix plans in the United States. They are as follows:
- Basic: $9.99/month – Previously $9.00/month
- Standard: $15.49/month – Previously $14.00/month
- Premium: $19.99/month – Previously $18.00/month
The price increases go into effect immediately for any new subscribers. For existing Netflix customers, the price changes will likely be rolled out over the course of the next 30 days or so.
This is not the first time Netflix has increased subscription prices in recent years.
Netflix was once concerned about potentially losing customers due to price increases. Now, it’s such a large company that small price hikes don’t seem to affect it much. The streaming powerhouse also took action against password sharing at the beginning of last year.
It would appear this is the sixth time Netflix has increased monthly prices since 2014.
