A recent study from the DCA reveals the dangers of using credit cards to pay for Unverified IPTV Services. The DCA, also known as the Digital Citizens Alliance, is a group dedicated to educating the public on internet safety.

In their latest report, they highlight the risks of using Credit Cards to purchase various IPTV Services, including unauthorized charges. The study involved purchasing 20 different subscriptions through Credit Cards for IPTV Services over a 3-month period.

A complete list of the services can be found in the report. After just 11 days, suspicious charges began appearing on the credit card statement. The first charges were linked to a company named GB Pay affectioni, claiming to be a women’s apparel store in Qingdao City, China.

Following this, a cash advance was made by Wollito, a cryptocurrency platform based in Vilnius, Lithuania. These unauthorized transactions continued throughout the 3-month period, with attempts at larger purchases as well.

During the experiment, the Credit Card Company flagged an attempt of $899 and $150, seeking approval before processing. Towards the end, a payment of $244.78 was processed by Pazzion, an apparel website featuring shoes and handbags.

Collectively, there were $1,495 in unauthorized charges attempted on the credit card during the three-month period. Unfortunately, the DCA could not identify the specific service responsible for the fraudulent activity.

The report also discussed a survey on consumers and pirated content. According to the survey, a significant percentage of Americans admitted to consuming pirated content, some resorting to it after canceling legitimate streaming services or TV subscriptions.

About 1 in 10 consumers who used a credit card for piracy subscriptions reported issues with credit card fraud in the past year. This highlights the importance of safe purchasing habits.

For those using credit cards to pay for “pirate subscriptions,” nearly 72% experienced credit card fraud within the last year, emphasizing the need for caution.

Given that a large portion of individuals using credit cards for “pirate subscriptions” encountered fraudulent charges, it’s crucial to prioritize security in your transactions. To address this, TROYPOINT recommends using secure payment methods like Abine Blur or Bitcoin for IPTV Services:

Additionally, utilizing a VPN with any unverified service is strongly advised based on the study’s findings on the questionable nature of some options. Using a VPN ensures encryption of your connection, enhancing anonymity and security.
