ChitramTV is a well-known IPTV service. It’s recently become the target of a copyright infringement lawsuit in a US court.
DISH Network filed the lawsuit as the plaintiff. They allege the provider is illegally obtaining and redistributing its channels.
ChitramTV has numerous resellers. These are situated in several countries worldwide.
These include places like Germany, the UK, and the US. Based on information on their official website, users have access to a wide selection. They can stream over 500 live TV channels and 10,000 movie titles.
This isn’t the first time DISH has gone after an IPTV provider. Back in 2018, DISH won a lawsuit against the once-popular Set TV. They were awarded over $90 million in damages.
The court issued a judgment. It stated that SET and its owners are permanently prohibited. They cannot receive, retransmit, or copy any of DISH’s satellite transmissions or programming without prior consent.

In its lawsuit against ChitramTV, DISH is likely seeking a similar result to the SET TV case. DISH claims they have been sending copyright infringement notices to ChitramTV. They’ve sent over 150 notices since 2014.
In 2017, ChitramTV temporarily stopped transmitting DISH’s content. However, they have since resumed using these streams. You can review the full complaint by clicking the link below.

It appears that lawsuits are becoming more frequent. They’re targeting developers and owners of apps that provide live streaming channels.
For example, the free IPTV app Mobdro was shut down. Authorities terminated it recently.
This resulted in numerous arrests across various countries.
