Apollo TV, the well-known app for movies and TV shows, has been taken down. The developer was hit with a cease and desist order. This order came from ACE, an anti-piracy group.
Upon receiving the notice, the app’s owner acted swiftly. They took down both the website and the APK. It’s unlikely to make a comeback.
The developer shared their experience with TorrentFreak. Here’s what they said:
I received a cease and desist from the Alliance 4 Creativity – the same group that shut down Opeenload and Streamango – They cited ApolloTV for making copyrighted works copied and hosted by unaffiliated third parties without permission. This is a serious offense to the copyright holder.
The developer states they lack the resources to fight a lawsuit. They’re complying with ACE’s removal requests.
