Owners of the popular sports streaming website SportsBay have been ordered to pay DISH & Sling TV over 490 million dollars. This ruling came after a court decision in a Texas District Court on August 14, 2023. SportsBay, an affiliated site of The Pirate Bay, provided live streaming content, including sporting events, free of charge. DISH Network and Sling TV filed a copyright lawsuit against the operators of SportsBay.org, Sportsbay.tv, Freefeds.com, and Live-nba.stream, accusing them of bypassing security measures to stream television programming without authorization.
