Recently, authorities in Taiwan conducted a successful raid, leading to the arrest of 7 individuals involved in the distribution of illegal SviCloud streaming boxes.

The Alliance For Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) has praised the Taiwanese officials for their efforts in dismantling this operation.

Taipei Police announced on September 27 that they had carried out a raid against the SviCloud distributors, resulting in the confiscation of over 1,000 illegal Android Boxes and the apprehension of 7 suspects.

One of the features of SviCloud is that it is a “Fully Loaded” Android Box, equipped with pre-installed streaming apps offering free content access and more.

The devices come in various models and price ranges, starting from $150 and going up to $240 for the top-tier “Ultimate Device for Home.”

You can find more details about these boxes on the official SviCloud website, which is still operational.

SviCloud and similar Fully Loaded Android Boxes are often linked to issues like pre-loaded malware and other concerns.

Many of these boxes are essentially generic Android TVs with added apps and APKs for streaming, typically infringing on copyright-protected content.

Such devices are commonly sold at inflated prices to unsuspecting buyers seeking free content.

Given its reputation, SviCloud was a primary target in the Taiwanese investigation into illegal streaming devices.

The seizure prompted a statement from Jan van Voorn, Executive VP of the MPA and Global Content Protection Chief at ACE, commending the swift police action against these distributors.

Legal issues surrounding Fully Loaded Android Boxes are not new, as seen in cases like the Droidsticks Owner Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison and the Dragon Box Owners’ $14.5 Million Penalty to ACE.

It remains to be seen what specific charges these individuals will face and the potential consequences they may encounter moving forward.

This news was initially released by the Alliance for Creativity & Entertainment (ACE).
