TorGuard VPN has made the decision to prohibit torrent websites. This comes after reaching a lawsuit settlement.
VPNs, or Virtual Private Networks, have gained a reputation. They are known as a top-notch method for safeguarding your online privacy.
This software’s claim to fame is its encryption capabilities. It can encrypt your online connection, rendering you completely anonymous.
VPNs also excel at unblocking websites and apps. This allows access to restricted content and a whole lot more.

However, there’s one VPN company taking a different approach. They’ve recently settled an agreement with several prominent movie companies, leading to a change in policy.
Several movie companies recently filed a lawsuit against TorGuard VPN. They alleged that the company was promoting pirated content.
The initial complaint stated the following:
TorGuard is aware of and promotes the use of its VPN service to access The Pirate Bay. They also encourage accessing other pirated content.
Furthermore, when TorGuard users encounter difficulties accessing Pirate Bay, the company’s moderators step in. They provide guidance on adjusting settings, enabling users to freely pirate content.
Initially, TorGuard requested the court to dismiss the charges. However, the parties involved have since come to a resolution, settling the disagreement.
While the specific details of the settlement remain undisclosed, one thing is for sure.
TorGuard has consented to block all BitTorrent traffic. This applies to customers connected to servers within the United States.
The VPN provider issued a statement on their website. It clarifies this decision and provides further information.
