triller lawsuit

Media company Triller filed a lawsuit. It’s seeking $100 million in the US District Court of California. The lawsuit is against those who illegally streamed the Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren fight.

The lawsuit is against 11 websites. It also targets 100 individuals (John Does). Triller claims they illegally streamed the event.

The lawsuit includes charges of copyright infringement. It also includes a breach of the Federal Communications Act.

Triller’s goal with the lawsuit is to get over $100,000,000.00. It’s seeking this from each of the defendants who are considered cyber-criminals. Triller claims they stole viewership by providing illegal access. They’re saying the defendants diverted over 2,000,000 unique viewers of the Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren fight

The lawsuit lists several streaming sites, such as:

  • Filmdaily.com
  • Accesstvpro.co
  • online2livestream.us
  • crackstreamslive.com
  • sports-today.club
  • my-sports.club
  • bilasport.com
  • Trendy Clips
  • Mike
  • Your Extra
  • Eclipt Gaming
  • ItsLilBrandon

The lawsuit claims these websites got the event stream illegally. They either purchased pay-per-view access or used other methods. Then, they re-transmitted the event without permission.

As a result, the lawsuit claims a breach of contract. It’s against the websites and individuals for distributing the boxing match.

Triller accuses the websites of conspiracy as well. They say the sites received payments. This means they conspired to access, copy, and share the event illegally.

This situation isn’t new. Live streaming services have been targeted before for illegal broadcasts.

For example, the popular Streaming App Mobdro had issues last year. Authorities shut it down. The developers were also arrested.
