Word on the street is that two big streaming sites have been taken down. These are 123Movies la and Cuevana, and it was ACE that did the deed.
The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) has really been cracking down lately. In the last few days, they’ve managed to seize and shut down the popular domains 123Movies.la and Cuevana.
For years, “123Movies la” has been a go-to spot. Many folks used it to watch movies and TV shows online without paying.
This global anti-piracy group, ACE, has some interesting stats. They say that since it popped up in 2017, the 123movies la website got something like 30 million visitors every month.
If you try to go to 123movies.la now, you’ll see a different screen. It’s not the streaming site anymore.
Now, if you check out the main Cuevana site (cuevana3.io), things look a bit different. It seems like it’s still up and running, at least for now.
The first Cuevana site, Cuevana.tv, got popular back in 2012. ACE says there are now over 30 different Cuevana websites out there. Apparently, they get millions of visitors each month, especially in Latin America.
Here’s what ACE had to say about Cuevana specifically:
“In January 2021 alone, these 30 domains got more than seven million visits. That makes Cuevana one of the biggest illegal streaming sites in all of Latin America.”
This whole thing with unverified streaming sites and apps getting shut down? It’s nothing new, and it’s definitely not going away anytime soon. We’ve seen this kind of thing happen a bunch of times before.

Sure, it’s a win for ACE and the folks who own the copyrights. But let’s be real. This is like a game of cat and mouse. They shut one site down, another one pops up. I bet we’ll see this continue for a long time.
Will 123Movies la & Cuevana Users Be Contacted by ACE?
Nobody really knows what’s going on behind the scenes with these shutdowns. Will 123Movies la and Cuevana users be in trouble? It’s hard to say.
We’ve heard stories before about website operators handing over user data. This can include things like your streaming history and even your IP address. There’s even a chance they could sell that info to someone else.
Here’s the thing: it’s really important to be careful about what you stream. Make sure it’s not protected by copyright. And it’s a good idea to protect yourself with IPVanish VPN.
The people running these websites and apps can do whatever they want with your info. They have your streaming history and your IP address; it’s not great.
But a VPN can help. It hides your IP address and makes your internet connection all secret. Basically, it makes you anonymous online.
If you use IPVanish on your devices, your data is safe. Nobody can track anything back to your real IP address, so you’re good to go.
Plus, your internet service provider won’t be able to see what you’re doing online either. That’s because your connection is encrypted. It’s like a secret code.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens next. Will these streaming websites come back? What will happen to the people who ran them? For now, though, it doesn’t look like 123Movies.la is coming back anytime soon. That’s the latest.
