Variety has released a list of the top 10 Most Pirated Movies & TV Shows in 2022.
An exclusive report from piracy-focused research firm Muso was provided to Variety with the most popular films & shows that were streamed illegally last year.
These titles were consumed by various methods including movie streaming websites, torrent websites, and more.
There are many driving forces behind the idea of viewing films and series without proper authorization.
With Netflix continuing to push a crackdown on password sharing, and with prices of streaming services continually going up, many look for an alternative.
This often comes in the form of illegal options where viewers can stream at no charge.
Many of the Movies that made the list of most pirated were also some of the most popular box office hits as well.
However, when it comes to TV Series, many of the top options that were illegally streamed did not match up with those that were streamed legally.

As you can see, DC and Marvel films accounted for a large portion of the top pirated films of 2022.

Unlike TV Shows that were legally streamed in 2022, many of the series shown above are Anime content.
This is likely because most of these titles are not available on popular streaming platforms such as Netflix and more.
